THE BON HOMME HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA DEPARTMENT proudly presents “A Night of One Acts”.   Performances will take place in the Springfield gym on April 25th, 26th and 28th.

BHHS Drama wants you to have the “Best Seat in the House”!  In an effort to raise funds for future shows, we will place a couch in a prime location and draw a winner prior to each performance.  The winner gets to pick a friend and will get to view the show from the comfort of the couch.  Tickets are $2 per chance and can be purchased at the door.  Thursday & Friday curtain times are 7pm, Sunday curtain time is 2pm – Activity tickets/Gold cards will not be honored – Admission cost is $3 for students and $5 for adults.

COMPETITIVE CHEER SIGN UP – Anyone in Grades 6-11 who is interested in giving Competitive Cheer a try, please come to the office and sign up.  Coach Jaeger will let you know when the tryouts are after the sign up process is complete.

FREE ONLINE TUTORING PROGRAMS – Our Dakota Dreams offers free on line tutoring for all K-12 South Dakota students.  Developed to support individual student learning needs, one-on-one tutors help with homework, specific subjects and broader educational concepts.  This program is offered through the SD Department of Education and the SD Board of Regents –

This is a seven-week, guided tutoring program.

Tutor Tracks:  Subject specific tutoring – Available to grades 1-8 – Focusing on Reading, Grammar & Math – Thirty minute sessions, twice per week, over a seven week period

On-Demand Homework Help:  For grades K-12 – Free homework help anytime with on-demand sessions – Schedule an appointment in advance or get help with no appointment necessary during program hours – Subjects are Math, English, Science or Social Studies – Students bring homework or questions for tutor assistance.

18TH ANNUAL USD HEALTHCARE CAREERS CAMP – Accepting only 40 applicant for the 2024 Summer Camp – June 9-14 – This camp is designed to help high school students who want to go into the healthcare field figure out where their true interest lie – Tuition is $100 - Tuition includes the cost of meals, lodging and all educational/recreational activities – Brochures with application information are located outside the office or go to usd.edu/hscc – Application deadline is 05/10/24

ALL STUDENTS – There is an admission fee when you go to a school athletic event.  If you plan to go to an activity, you must either have an activity ticket purchased or there will be a $3.00 fee at the gate.

ALL STUDENTS:  Each and every student in the HS/MS is issued a locker and a lock to use on that locker.  Many of you choose NOT to use these.  You need to know that should anything go missing from your locker or your backpack, you will be held financially responsible for the replacement cost of items such as text books, computers, chargers and any other school owned items.  With textbooks running anywhere from $60-$120 each and computers that cost $900, we hope you will reconsider & start using the locks on your lockers.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS- COLLEGE VISITS– If you are planning a visit to a college, there is paperwork to be done in advance.  You must follow these directions in order for it to count as a “College Day” and for the absence to be exempt.

·          Juniors and Seniors each get one day per year for a visit.  In special cases an extra day may be granted for travel.

·          You must get a “College Visit Request Form” from the office or from Mrs. Stewart.

·          Complete the form and turn in to Mrs. Melichar IN ADVANCE.

·          You can set up the visit yourself or you can ask Mrs. Stewart to help you with that.

·          You MUST actually go to the college, university or tech school.

·          You must bring back a signature from the institution, dated and signed, stating you were there.  You must turn this in to Mrs. Melichar within two weeks of the visit in order for her to exempt the absence.
