ACT, SAT SCHEDULED
As the 2012-2013 school year begins, Bon Homme High School Juniors and Seniors should give serious thought to participation in the ACT and/or SAT Assessment programs.
The Guidance Office recommends that students participate in the ACT Assessment Program and/or SAT Achievement Series during their junior year or early in their senior year so the results will be available in time for use in planning for post-secondary education and careers. ACT and SAT assessment reports are sent to the students, their high school counselor, and only those institutions and agencies specifically designated by the student. Colleges then use the information from the ACT/SAT assessment programs for academic advising, admissions counseling, course sectioning and placement, student services, and institutional research. Registration fees for the ACT/SAT range from $31.00 to $45.00 which are paid by the person requesting the assessment.
Both the ACT and SAT Assessments have expanded and updated their programs to provide students and educators with new kinds of information. Students can obtain registration packets that contain all the information necessary to register and prepare for the assessments from the Guidance Office or students may register on-line at www.act-student.org for the ACT assessments, and www.collegeboard.com for the SAT assessments. The Bon Homme High School CEEB Code is 421-295. Late registration will be accepted by both ACT and SAT with additional handling fees. Students can obtain ACT and SAT computer preparation programs by contacting Lee Thomas in the Guidance Office at Bon Homme High School.
Junior and Senior students are urged to contact the High School Guidance Office as soon as possible to obtain the ACT/SAT information. Parents with questions are invited to call Mr. Thomas at the high school, the phone number is 589-3387. Bon Homme students have yearly compiled excellent scores on these assessments that insure placement at the post high school institutions of their choice. One can contribute the excellent scores over several years to the many course electives that students can choose from in the areas of Language Arts, Science, Math, and Social Science.
