Computer Awareness
Students will study some ethics and usage of computers in our changing society, study cost of today's hardware and software needs, and study the operating system of current hardware. The student will work with all the functions of the software. Students will further their knowledge on how to edit, save and print documents. Students will learn how to merge data using a variety of resources.
During another part if the course students will explore the application of databases. Students will learn how to make a database, make reports, search for data, make mailing labels and merge databases with word-processing.
During another part of the semester, students will work with the construction of spreadsheets. Here students will learn the basic menu functions needed to construct spreadsheets, how to write formulas, format data and make graphs.
Students will have access to the Internet. The student will learn how to access the Internet, search for data, download data, and merge data into a document.
Students will learn how to use a product call Power Point. The software will be used to make multimedia presentations in other classes.
